As per an ESPNcricinfo report, LSG are likely to retain their star batter Nicholas Pooran, young pacer Mayank Yadav, reliable spinner Ravi Bishnoi alongside uncapped Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan.

KL Rahul, who was with LSG since its debut in the league and led the team for three seasons, is unlikely to be retained as of now. With one RTM left for the franchise, LSG will decide their sixth retention during the auction.

Nicholas Pooran has remained the backbone of LSG’s batting line-up over the years and given his current form and power-hitting ability, he is set to be retained as first-choice player. Pooran scored 499 runs in 14 innings during IPL 2024 at a strike-rate of 178.21.

Mayank Yadav is bound to remain with the franchise owing to his splendid match winning performances in the IPL 2024. His heroics also helped him join team India recently, where he performed decently. Yadav’s line and lengths added with extra pace is his biggest weapon, and LSG will surely retain him.

Ravi Bishnoi, another Indian bowler, who has emerged as a wicket-taking option for his side due to his clever variations’ deliveries. With leg spinners often finding success in T20 cricket, Bishnoi is the best option to be retained rather than seeking a new member.

While Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan have both impressed, and with retention of uncapped players will not cost that much, it will be a safe and sound option to retain their best uncapped options.

IPL governing council has earlier announced that a franchise can retain a maximum of six players either via retention or RTM (Right to match) and set the deadline to finalize and submit their retention list by October 31st.
