WI vs SA 2nd Test Day 2 Updates: West Indies vs South Africa Updates, The day of a thrilling second test match between South Africa and West Indies started off in a pretty good fashion, where the South African side picked apart the West Indies team under 144 in the first session of day 2 with Proteas taking 16-run first innings lead. Coming into the second innings of South Africa they this time played much more fluent cricket when compared to their first innings batting.

West Indies Once Again on the Hunt To Kill Protes Batting Lineup

In this 2nd test match, we saw a different West Indies team, where especially their bowing department certainly proved a point as they cleaned out the Proteas batting lineup for 160. In the first innings, it was Shamar Joseph’s five wickets that sealed the deal. Now in the second innings, they were on the hunt to do so.

First, they started off quite well, where they picked up multiple wickets and tried to hold the away side from scoring runs, but half-centuries from Makram and Verreynne powered the South African team back into the game. Even though South Africa took a decent lead, West Indies bowlers Jayden Seales picked up three wickets as of day 2 stumps, while Gudakesh Motie also picked in with 2 wickets for West Indies.

What’s at Stake for Day 3 in the 2nd Test Between West Indies and South Africa

The away side has a current 239-run lead with five wickets in hand, moreover, they have two set batsmen on the crease. So it will be a difficult task to break down the Proteas remaining batter and if they can do it early then will have a lot of time to chase down the target with still three days of the game to play.
