West Indies vs Bangladesh Match Highlights

West Indies struggled after being called in to bat first, scoring only 29 runs in the powerplay. They also dropped Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis to Mahedi Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, respectively. Shimron Hetmyer was also sent out by Mahedi. Though Mahedi bowled effectively, he struggled in the outfield, losing 2 catches. From then, the Indies team struggled a little.

Kieron Pollard was left injured for unclear reasons before Andre Russell was run out at the non-end striker’s before facing a delivery. Nicholas Pooran sparked excitement into the batting, smashing 40 off 22 balls, including 1 four and 3 sixes. Jason Holder, who came in to substitute for pacer Obed McCoy, smashed 2 sixes on his route to a five-ball 15. West Indies finished with a total of 142-7.

Mahmudullah efforts couldn’t help his team to cross the finish line

The Tigers’ attempt of sending Shakib Al Hasan failed as he was caught by Andre Russell in the 5th over. Mohammad Naim struck 2 fours before being pinned by Holder. From then, Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das, who had been promoted to No.3, put together a 31-run partnership to keep Bangladesh in the competition. Before becoming Akeal Hosein’s 1st victim, Soumya offered 2 fours.

Mushfiqur Rahim was unable to get going when Ravi Rampaul removed him. The Tigers required 44 off 30 balls in the final 5 overs, with captain Mahmudullah and Liton Das in the middle. Liton appeared comfortable in the middle, keeping the scoreboard moving. Das was killed after scoring 44 runs with the Tigers wanting 13 runs off one over. Mahmudullah remained unbroken on 31 off 24, but his team was unable to cross the finish line.
