Twitterati: SRH Defeat RR Courtesy To Jason Roy And Williamson

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) may already have begun to play as a comeback team. Even they remain statistically alive in the league, they have proven to be problematic for the Rajasthan Royals, who would need to win all of their qualifying games to reach the playoffs. The fifties from Jason Roy as well as Kane Williamson let SRH chase down 165 runs in their 2nd match of the IPL 2021 encounter. Here are the Highlights of RR Vs SRH

Previously, the Royals focused on Sanju Samson after opting to bat first. The skipper stepped out to bat in the 2nd over, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar removing Evin Lewis for his first delivery. Samson is in the area on the day, allowing the youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal to perform in the powerplay overs.

Playing the classic shots, Jaiswal once again demonstrated the depth of his strokes. Sandeep Sharma concluded his 36-run knock, while Rashid Khan quickly followed with Liam Livingstone’s wicket. Samson, on the other hand, was holding strong. Despite wickets dropping, he brought back in his aggressiveness and focused on investing more time for the rest.

SRH dismissed David Warner and gave Jason Roy his league debut – RR Vs SRH

Afterward, he opened fire on the SRH bowlers, hitting some eye-catching smashes on his path to the top of the list of top run-getters. In the 16th over, Samson smashed 20 runs off the death bowlers of SRH, particularly Siddharth Kaul. Meanwhile, with Mahipal Lomror struggling from the other side, runs continued to flow solely from one side, and despite Samson’s 82-run knock-off 57 balls, RR could only manage 164 runs in their 20 overs.

Kaul rescued himself in the last over, giving only 4 runs as the Royals managed only 11 runs in the last 2 overs.

SRH dismissed David Warner and gave Jason Roy his league debut, which worked wonderfully for them. England’s opening batsman, Wriddhiman Saha, got the team off to a strong start. Taking full advantage of the field constraints, the opening pair amassed 57 runs in less than 6 overs.

Calm-headed Kane Williamson kept the side on pace for a flawless pursue – RR Vs SRH

Saha made it to Lomror, but Roy and then the cool-headed Kane Williamson kept the side on pace for a flawless pursue. Roy was at his customary best, always seeking for a boundary and making the most of the chance presented to him. In the meantime, he also reached his fifty, and by the time Roy was dismissed, SRH had amassed 114 runs, with the runs needed to win a little over a run-a-ball.

Things became a little difficult when RR bowlers pulled some tricks out of their sleeve. Yet Kane Williamson was not trying to enable them to get back into the game as they did versus Punjab, and Abhishek Sharma was exactly the type of batter SRH lacked all season. When the pressure started to mount, the astute left-hander was able to squeeze out 4’s and 6’s.

SRH stepped over the line in the 19th over of the innings, breaking a five-match losing streak. However, the Royals may still achieve 16 points, but they must win all of their remaining games. They will be upset, though, to lose to the underside team when a win would have put them into the top four.
