Mumbai Indians (MI) have had a difficult Indian Premier League (IPL) season, but they are not going to back down. This battle was considered to be a must-win for the five-time winners versus the Rajasthan Royals (RR), and a fantastic performance they put up with the ball. The triggers for MI were Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jasprit Bumrah, and James Neesham who turned the prospects of the game. Here are the MI vs RR match Highlights.
However, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first, and to the Royals’ satisfaction, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis gave them a good start. Boundaries came quick and early, however, MI bowlers immediately discovered their line, and Coulter-Nile was the first to knock Jaiswal away. Eventually, Bumrah trapped the fearsome Lewis in front of the wickets, and the Royals hitters surrendered then after.
In his opening match of the UAE leg, James Neesham grabbed wickets for delight, dismissing Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Rahul Tewatia. David Miller tried to stay in the center, but no runs came his way. Coulter-Nile was sensational, taking the wickets of Glenn Phillips, Miller, and Chetan Sakariya to finish with 4/14 in 4 overs.
It would be some magnificent hammering from Ishan Kishan – MI vs RR
Bumrah finished with 2/14, while Neesham gave up only 12 runs in 4 overs. The Royals’ innings never got going, as they only managed 90 runs in 20 overs, and that came only to a 6 from Mustafizur Rahman in the last over off Trent Boult.
Despite their low net run rate, Mumbai were anticipated to go crazy from the start, and Rohit Sharma did just that. He hit a pair of sixes to reach 400 maximums in T20s before being dismissed after hitting a quickfire 22 off 13 balls. Ishan Kishan, who batted first, too proved his worth, hammering off fast runs within the powerplay overs.
MI scored 56 in the opening 6 overs despite losing 2 wickets. After a quiet couple of overs, Kishan getting stuck at the RR bowlers once more, knocking both Chetan Sakariya and Mustafizur Rahman to score the remaining 34 runs off just 8 balls. It would be some magnificent hammering from the left-hander as he stayed undefeated on 50 off only 25 balls as MI eased to win in just 8.2 overs, the 2nd highest in IPL history when it comes to balls remaining.

That time of the year to quote tweet. Advantage for MI over KKR.Have to figure out some other solution than NRR. If i remember right this is the 8th straight year in which the tournament is going to the last round with NRR in play. Time for Aditya Tare to get ready #youremember https://t.co/LURWVB1fES

Credit to Ishan Kishan. Coming into must-win match, bereft of runs and under pressure and required to attack from the word go to up the run rate.
He aces all the tests. On a track where #RR managed just 90, he goes on to hit a 25-ball fifty. #RRvsMI

MI beat RR by eight wickets and 70 balls remaining.
This is the fifth largest victory for any team by balls remaining in IPL. #RRvMI #IPL2021
