ICC Set to Announce T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule: When and Where to Watch Live

T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule Announcement: All You Need to Know

Major Announcement Scheduled for Tuesday Evening

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to officially release the schedule for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Tuesday evening. Cricket fans around the world are expected to tune in as details of the highly anticipated tournament—co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka—are revealed. The 2026 edition of the tournament will mark the return of an ICC global event to the subcontinent following India’s triumphant run in the 2024 T20 World Cup. So let’s know about T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule Announcement.

India and Sri Lanka to Co-Host the Tournament

Defending champions India will stage the tournament alongside Sri Lanka, continuing an established partnership between the two boards. India is set to host matches across multiple shortlisted venues, including Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Sri Lanka is expected to feature three venues, although final confirmation from the ICC is awaited.

The tournament will begin on February 7, bringing together 20 teams from across the globe. This will be India’s first major ICC tournament campaign without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who retired from T20 internationals after the 2024 World Cup. The responsibility of leading India’s title defence will fall to new captain Suryakumar Yadav, who now steps into the role with significant expectation.

High-Profile India vs Pakistan Fixture Confirmed

One of the tournament’s most anticipated contests—the league match between India and Pakistan—is scheduled, according to ESPNcricinfo sources, for February 15. In line with the hosting agreement between the boards, the match will take place in Colombo.

If Sri Lanka advance to the semi-finals, the knockout fixture involving them will also be staged in Colombo. Meanwhile, if Pakistan qualify for the final, the summit clash will reportedly move to a neutral venue outside Sri Lanka, ensuring clarity and logistical smoothness.

Teams Participating in the 2026 Edition

A total of 20 teams have qualified for the tournament. These include:
India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Australia, England, South Africa, United States, West Indies, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Canada, Zimbabwe, Oman, Italy, UAE, Namibia and Nepal.
