T20-WC: IND vs PAK Always A High-pressure Game- Afridi

The T20 World Cup is approaching closer, so the super show’s calendar was released, cricket fans have been eager to watch the action play. The fact that India and Pakistan would be in the same group for the main event has added to the boldness of their enthusiasm. Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, on the other hand, has spoken out against the India-Pakistan matchup.

A match between India and Pakistan is usually a highly anticipated event. Due to political concerns between the 2-countries, the teams do not participate in any bilateral series. They only play each other in the Asia Cup and the ICC tournaments.

Definitely India Will Have The Edge In T20 World Cup: Afridi

The last appearance was made on a bilateral series involving India and Pakistan in 2012-13 when Pakistan visited India for a three-match One-Day International series. The series had been decided by a 2-1 score in favour of the visitors. Afridi, who has played in several India-Pakistan matches, believes that the side who can handle the game’s pressure would win.

“See, India vs Pakistan is always a high-pressure game. And whichever team handles pressure better will win. Also, whichever teams make the smallest of mistakes has a better chance of winning,” said Shahid Afridi.

On October 24, India will face Pakistan in their first World Cup match. The high-profile game of the ICC T20 WC 2021 will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Furthermore, it should be mentioned that all match tickets were quickly sold out. Fans hurried in to reserve their seats for this game as soon as the tickets are available.

In the 50-over World Cup, India has defeated Pakistan 7 times. In the T20 World Cup, the former has defeated its arch-rivals on 5 occasions. The squad has a solid World Cup history versus Pakistan, therefore former Pakistan pacer Azhar Mahmood underlined these points and had previously remarked by saying that, “The match is expected to be tough because our players perform well in T20 format but the way India are playing themselves and the kind of team they have, definitely India will have the edge, but on the day, if our players click, I am sure we can beat them.”
