Stuart Broad Backs England’s Ashes Trip

England star bowler Stuart Broad has confirmed that he will go to the Ashes tour which is all set to be played in Australia later this year. England cricket board (ECB) has confirmed that despite concerns over coronavirus restrictions, the Ashes will go as planned , and also Stuart Broad Backs England’s Ashes Trip.

The Ashes 2021 would be a challenging tour for England because of lengthy Covid-related quarantines and restrictive bubble environments. ECB is yet to make a decision about the Pakistan tour – which was supposed to start next month. Pakistan tour will be doubleheaders for both the Men and Women side, which is scheduled on October 13 and 14 in Rawalpindi.

ECB has planned an international tour to Pakistan, but after the New Zealand cricket team has abruptly abandoned their tour against Pakistan because of a “security alert” from their government. Now ECB is in doubt – whether to go ahead with the matches against Pakistan or not.

In a recent interview, Broad said – “It is now just a couple of weeks away from a squad being selected but players can’t sign up to something unless they know what they are signing up for,”

He added – “If you ask me if I would be happy to get on a plane to Australia in November, I would say yes. I am working tirelessly to get there. I don’t feel there will be a postponement,” he added.

He also said – “In my mind, it is 100 per cent clear that an England team of some description will embark on the tour. But if another player called me and told me they couldn’t commit, I would totally accept it,”

He has concluded by saying – “Everyone has to make their own decision and Ashley Giles, England’s director of cricket, has made it clear a player’s chances of selection in the future will not be harmed,” Broad concluded.
