Sri Lanka Squad For Tri-Series Against India and South Africa
Sri Lanka names squad for the tri-series against India and South Africa to be hosted at Colombo, Sri Lanka. Chamari Athapaththu will lead the Sri Lankan women. The series commences on Sunday, 27 April, 2025.
Sri Lanka Announces 17-Member Squad
The much-awaited Women’s tri-series, consisting of India, Sri Lanka, and South Africa as the competitors, begins on Sunday, 27 April 2025. A total of six ODIs will be played between the teams, and the final is on Sunday, 11 May 2025.
Previously, the Indian women’s cricket team and the South African women’s team had announced their squads, and now the Sri Lankan women have come up with their strong unit ahead of the contest. The host nation has announced a 17-member team. After facing defeat against the New Zealand women by 2-0 in the recent three-match ODI series, the Sri Lankan squad has made the most changes in the unit.
The Sri Lankan side, led by Chamari Athapaththu, has introduced an uncapped spinner, Malki Madara. Malki Madara played a major role in her T20 debut against New Zealand women. In addition, two other uncapped players, Piumi Wathsala and Dewmi Vihangna, are in the squad.
