Opting to bat, the Proteas posted a total of 357 with skipper Temba Bavuma scoring the most runs for the side.

Bavuma missed his ton by 14 runs though, while the second-best batter in the first innings for Africa was Tony de Zorzi, who scored 78.

South Africa, currently sitting in seventh place on the WTC standings, hoping to set a competitive total for the tourists on the final day of the game on Sunday.

Kraigg Braithwatt-led West Indies only managed to post 233 in their first innings, with Keacy Carty, who played a knock of 42 remained their highest scorer.

West Indies, who faced a 3-0 defeat against England before this series, are facing the same issue, as their batters are not able to convert their start into a big knock.

Keshav Maharaj bagged a four-wicket haul, while the third ranked bowler in test rankings, Kagiso Rabada grabbed three scalps for South Africa.

The Caribbean team left 124 runs for the Proteas to set the target for them, and South African openers scored 30 before stumps on day 4.

Rain halted most of the match, and only 30 overs were bowled on the fourth day. First four hours during match time of final day can also be affected by rain as per weather forecast and South Africa will be planning to give the chasing side a target that seems to be achievable but is actually difficult due to limited overs and overcast conditions.

This series holds an extreme importance for both the sides as far as their chances to qualify for the WTC 2025 finals are concerned.
