Shreyas Iyer becomes the highest run-scorer for India in 2022: IND vs BAN 1st Test

Shreyas Iyer has toppled Suryakumar Yadav as the highest run-scorer for India in the calendar year of 2022.

The batter crossed the mark in the first test between India and Bangladesh on Wednesday.

India had reached 112 for 4 when Shreyas Iyer entered the game. He is still unbeaten at 82 at the end of the first day, with India scoring 278 for the day. In this calendar year, Shreyas Iyer has scored 1489 runs for India across all formats, while Suryakumar Yadav has scored 1424 runs. Iyer appears to be on track to end the year as the highest-scoring Indian batter because Suryakumar is almost certainly done playing for India this year.

Shreyas Iyer 2022 statistics:

Shreyas Iyer’s 2022 statistics show that in only 38 innings, he has already scored 1489 runs. Across all formats, he has batted with an average of 47.96. Iyer, an IPL player for Kolkata Knight Riders, has struck 13 fifties and one hundred this year, both of which came in a set of ODI matches against South Africa in October.

Shreyas Iyer in a spot at no. 6

On Wednesday, when India needed a partnership, Shreyas Iyer arrived at the crease and provided it. The two combined for 149 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara for the fifth wicket. Iyer displayed the finest control while playing and displayed his class with some fantastic hitting in the middle. Iyer demonstrated exceptional batting prowess and maturity by gliding alongside Pujara and playing shots all over the field to save India from the early stumbles.

He is making his spot concrete at no.6 in the Indian Cricket Team, as there are many variations in the selection of the team. Here Shreyash Iyer appears to be the stable team member in the draught of Indian Cricket.

Rishabh Pant Back To His Favorite Format

Additionally, Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant completed 4000 runs in international cricket during India’s first Test match against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday.
