Shivam Dube Credits MS Dhoni: Shivam Dube has become an important member of India’s T20 set up for the last one year due to his heroic’s comeback in the Indian Premier League. 

Dube’s success with Chennai Super Kings under MS Dhoni played a huge role in helping him get a chance to claim a seat in India’s T20 World Cup squad.  

Speaking on the same topic the all-rounder gave full credit to the legendary MS Dhoni for his incredible comeback. 

“Mahi Bhai’s role was crucial (in my comeback) because if a legendary player like him judges you and gives you advice then it means a lot to any player. When he tells you something positive, your confidence skyrockets instantly. His small pieces of advice has improved my cricket largely.” – said Shivam Dube while talking to Star Sports.

Dube has played 41 games for CSK in IPL so far and has shot 1103 runs at an average of 34.47 while maintaining a strike-rate near 160.  

The all-rounder played a big role in guiding CSK to win their fifth title in 2023. While his ability to hit monster sixes against spinners also made him a player to be aware of.  

However, Dube has been selected based on his all-rounder status, as his medium pace can be crucial for India in the marquee event.  

Dube was mostly use as an impact player in the recently concluded IPL (Indian Premier League) and has not given much chance to bowl. He only bowled one over in the entire season, still the Indian management showed their faith on Dube and included him in India’s T20 squad.

His performance in India’s only warm-up game ahead of the main event, proved the decision right, as Dube grabbed 2 wickets with the ball while giving only 13 in 3 overs.
