Former Pakistan cricketer and One of the legends Shahid Afridi have previously announced that this season will be his last in the PSL. Unfortunately, Afridi had to miss the remaining of the season due to a lower back injury. Fans and the franchise were getting ready to give a good farewell for the legend but all the plans have been shattered and he had to leave the camp before the tournament ends.

Afridi has posted a video on his official YouTube channel stating that ” He won’t be playing anymore in the PSL 2022 due to his lower back injury getting worse and the pain extending to different parts of the body”.

He has posted a tweet stating – “Goodbye to PSL, My body is in serious pain,”

He has said that – “I wanted to end PSL on a good note but I have been playing with the lower-back injury for 15-16 years now and the pain is quite intense where I feel it in my groin, knee, and even the fingers of the foot,”

This edition of PSL dint go according to his plans because Afridi was tested Covid positive before the initial game between Quetta Gladiators. After returning back from the quarantine, he has not done well with his bowling – he has conceded the 2nd highest runs by a bowler in any PSL match – Where he recorded 1-67 in 4 overs.

Leaving all the bad things aside, Afridi is a star player – The contribution he has done for his national side and domestic leagues is enormous. Everyone knows what kind of player he is when it comes to international standards. Because his numbers speak it all and he is that one player from the Pakistan side who needs no introduction. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.
