Last chance for Sanju Samson? How can Samson cement his place in India’s 11

Sanju Samson Chances in Indian Cricket

Sanju Samson Chances in Indian Cricket, Sanju Samson once again failed to make the most of the opportunity as poor form continues in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh T20I series.

Having got the chance to open the innings for India in the first two matches, Samson only managed to score 39 in two innings despite playing at the batting friendly surfaces.

This is not the first time that Samson has been given a chance; he has received opportunities in the past, but he has rarely taken advantage of them.

His ODIs stats are good, but when it comes to T20Is, his average is below 20 even after playing 32 matches. It is right that Sanju has not received continuous chances to prove himself due to competition, but seeing him as a talented player, he then and there received a call-up.

Samson was part of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 winning squad. He was with the team on India tour of Zimbabwe 2024, where he played three games and scored 70 runs.

The 29-year-old Sanju was selected as the first-choice wicketkeeper batter for the three-match series and was also given the responsibility to open the innings for India.

He started off well in both the innings, as Samson played a knock of 19-ball 29 in the first T20I when team India was chasing 128. While he looked in a good touch in Delhi when he hit two fours in the first over of the game but thrown his wicket away at the score of 10.

With there is one more match left in the series, and Sanju is likely to play in that match as an opener, all Indian fans want to see a big knock from such a talented batter or else it will be difficult for him to be considered for big tours.

How can Samson cement his place in India’s 11

India will be touring South Africa for a four-match T20I series in November, and it is highly unlikely that India’s first-choice wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant, will play in that series, as Border-Gavaskar Trophy also starting in November.

It will provide one more chance to Sanju Samson to prove his worth and cement his place at least in T20I team.
