SA-W vs ENG-W Highlights: England women claim top spot with 7–wicket win over South Africa women 

SA-W vs ENG-W Highlights for 9th match of  ICC Womens T20 World Cup, 2024 

SA-W vs ENG-W Highlights, England women recorded their second straight win in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to claim top spot on the Group B standings.  

Chasing a modest total of 125 against the South Africa women, Danielle Wyatt and Nat Sciver Brunt led the charge with the bat and guided their side to a seven wicket win with four balls to spare.

With this win, England women have strengthened their chances to qualify for the semis, while South Africa with one win and one defeat, remain in third spot.  

SA-W vs ENG-W Highlights  

Opted to bat, England women started with run-a-ball approach and were going decently with 31 in first overs before losing their first wicket in the first ball of the sixth over.  

Skipper Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch added 40 for the second wicket. Bosch was seen struggling and scored 18 off 26. While Wolvaardt played a knock of 42 off 39.  

All-rounder Marizanne Kapp, and Annerie Derksen provide some acceleration to Proteas innings with their 17-ball 26, and 11-ball 20*, respectively.  

England managed to keep things under control by only allowing 124 in 20 overs. Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowler for England with her 4-0-15-2. 

Danielle Wyatt, Nat Sciver Brunt’s solid knocks  

England, in reply, lost their first wicket on 16 in 4.3 overs and second on 50 in 8.3. Alice Capsey, who struck three boundaries, got out for 19, as Nadine de Klerk did not miss the caught and bowled chance.

With 75 more required in 69, reliable batters Danielle Wyatt and Nat Sciver Brunt once again took the responsibility of finishing the task.  

Danielle Wyatt played a knock of 43 off 43, while Brunt remained unbeaten in the process with a 36-ball 48*.
