RCB vs LSG 1st innings update: Nicholas Pooran final over heroics rescued Lucknow as the away team managed to 181 for 5 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

Quinton de Kock scored the most runs for LSG with a 56-ball 81, but his team looked in trouble after his dismissal, but thanks to Pooran’s quick-fire 41* that helped LSG post a fighting total.

Invited to bat, Lucknow started their campaign on a solid note and have crossed the 50-run mark inside the powerplay.

KL Rahul was looking in good touch and planned to destroy RCB’s masterplan to dismiss Quinton de Kock by introducing Glenn Maxwell in the sixth over.

De Kock took a single on the first ball, and Rahul smoked a six on the second ball of the over to put pressure on Maxwell. But the experienced Maxwell trapped Rahul and got his wicket first.

Devdutt Padikkal, who came into bat at 3, failed once again, and scored only 6 off 11.

Marcus Stoinis and Quinton de Kock, however, brought LSG back into the game again with their 30-ball 56 runs partnership before Maxwell got his second fish.

With 129 for in 13.5 overs, LSG was targeting to touch in the final six overs, but they witnessed a drop in run-rate and the wickets of de Kock and Ayush Badoni put more pressure onto the touring party.

Lucknow was at 148 after 18 overs, their only hope, however, was present in the middle in the form of Nicholas Pooran, who lived up to his teams’ expectation and played an unbeaten knock of 41 off 20 to help Lucknow post 181 in 20 overs.

Glenn Maxwell starred with the ball for RCB with a spell of 4-0-23-2. Yash Dayal also bowled well, took 1 wicket and gave only 24 in his 4 overs. While Mohammed Siraj also grabbed a wicket.
