The 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on 19th September in the UAE. All 8 teams have started their preparations. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) achieved a strong 1st half of the IPL, winning 5 games and sitting comfortably in the 3rd spot in the standings.
Their team is gradually joining in the UAE, with captain Virat Kohli and main bowler Mohammed Siraj arriving on Monday. On September 20, they will face the Kolkata Knight Riders. The RCB, on the other hand, will not wear their usual red jerseys. Alternatively, they wear the blue ones to honour the frontline warriors for their courageous duty throughout the COVID-19 pandemic’s difficult days.
RCB confirmed the news on their Twitter Page and released a video of it, “We at RCB are honored to sport the Blue kit, that resembles the color of the PPE kits of the frontline warriors, to pay tribute to their invaluable service while leading the fight against the Covid pandemic,” tweeted.

RCB is recognized for supporting initiatives and noble causes, as the team wears a green shirt every year to raise money for environmental causes. And this year, the team wants to wear blue to serve as an example.
When it comes to the RCB team, they had to struggle with the absence of players like Adam Zampa, Finn Allan, Daniel Sams, and Kane Richardson for the IPL’s UAE leg. However, they have got to replace the gap by bringing in Sri Lankan duo Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga, as well as Tim David. In the UAE leg, Virat Kohli is looking forward to working with new teammates.
“The replacement players have great skillsets, especially in these conditions. Excited to see them with the whole group and to resume a very good season that we started last time around,” Kohli said in a video posted on RCB Twitter.
