PAK vs BAN 1st Test Day 3 Updates: In a fight game of cricket here at Rawalpindi the visitors Bangladesh put up a thrilling fight to stay alive in the game. The home team after declaring the first innings for 448/6 the visitors in reply fought hard as they ended Day 3 at 316/5 in 90 overs. With still Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim on the crease the Bangladesh team will positively chase down the target and possibly put some lead on the board.

Bangladesh made sure that they did not lose any wickets at the end of Day 2 where they left off at 27/0 in 12 overs. However day 3 of the PAK vs BAN 1st test looked to be pretty good, but after the first four overs, the first wicket fell in the form of Zakir Hasan as Naseem Shah provided the first breakthrough for the home team.

Last day even skipper Shan Masood declared the innings before Rizwan scored a double hundred or could have even waited till they reached the 500 mark, however this bold call from the Pak skipper led to much speculation in the world of cricket.

How the Day 3 Started for the Victors?

Earlier Saud Shakeel’s 141 and Rizwan’s 171 helped Pakistan propel to 448/6, but in reply, the Bangladesh players showed a bit of resistance as they went on to score 316/5 and trial by 132 runs at the end of Day 3. Bangladesh early on in day 3 the visitors lost a couple of wickets but Shadman Islam along with Mominul Haque held the rope for Bangladesh.

Shadman Islam played a wonderfully calm and composed innings, were unfortunately he fell short of a century of seven runs as he was dismissed by Mohammad Ali for 93 runs. While Mominul Haque also chipped with a good fifty but failed to convert it into a big score.

Then it was Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das who tried to cut the lead of the home team. Rahim (55)* and Litton Das (52)* played like warriors, where both of them smashed fifties to keep the team alive in this 1st test match of the Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2024. Even though Bangladesh lost half of their side at the end of the second session, the visitors looked to be in decent control of the game by the end of Day 3.

Pakistan Bowlers Fight Hard to Stop Bangladesh Run Flow

At one stage it seemed like Bangladesh where taking control of the test match, but however, the couple of wickets early on in Day 3 helped the home team to create fear among the Bangladesh batting lineup. Even though the visitors tried to build partnerships the Pak bowlers made sure that they picked up regular wickets.

At the end of day 3 the Pakistan bowler Khurram Shahzad was the highest wicket-taker of the day with two wickets in his bag. While other bowlers like Naseem Shah, Mohammad Ali, and Saim Ayub picked up a wicket each to disrupt the Bangladesh batting lineup.

Conclusion: What to Expect for Final Two Days of First Test Match?

The Bangladesh team certainly looks like they are going to fight until the end and now they will start day 4 of the test match with Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim on strike. The visitors still trail by 132 runs and with five wickets in hands, they are poised to come close to Pakistan’s first innings total and hoping to take the lead. While the home team Pakistan will be looking to dismiss the remaining Bangladesh batters and start their second innings as soon as possible on Day 4.
