New Zealand beat Scotland by 16 runs on Wednesday, November 3, to claim their 2nd victory in the Super 12 of the 2021 T20 World Cup. The triumph kept the Kiwis, captained by Kane Williamson, in 3rd spot in the standings with a net run rate of 0.816. The Scots, however, remained at the bottom of the points standings, with a horrific net run rate of -2.645. Here is New Zealand vs Scotland Match Highlights.

After being called in to bat first, the Black Caps batted brilliantly, scoring 172 for the cost of 5 wickets. Daryl Mitchell and captain Williamson were unable to produce a significant run and were replaced by Safyaan Sharif. Devon Conway similarly pretended to be deceived when Mark Watt took his wicket. Martin Guptill and Glenn Phillips, on the other hand, put up a 105-run partnership for the 4th wicket to get their business back on track.
Two from two this week in Dubai! A strong effort from Scotland with the bat. Trent Boult 2-29, Ish Sodhi 2-42 and Tim Southee 1-24 the wicket takers. Scorecard | https://t.co/l04HWCDKuu #T20WorldCup pic.twitter.com/dOi50YV2fS

Guptill looked at his best as he smashed a half-century off 35 balls. Phillips, on the other hand, appeared dissatisfied. Brad Wheal removed him after he scored 33 runs under a run-a-ball. Guptill went on to become the 2nd batter in history, behind India’s Virat Kohli, to score 3,000 T20I runs. He went on to knock a 56-ball 93, packed with 6 fours and 7 sixes, to lead the Kiwis to an impressive total.
Scotland got off to a good start in the run-chase, with Kyle Coetzer hitting 4 fours. Trent Boult, however, got him out in the 3rd over to take the lead. George Munsey, who had struck 22 from 18 balls, was beginning to look frightening. But Ish Sodhi returned him in the 8th over. Although Tim Southee mislead him, Matthew Cross reportedly offered a lot. Scotland scored 76 runs in the first ten overs.
Richie Berrington and Calum MacLeod were then tasked with carrying the innings ahead. Only after 12 runs, the latter was sent out to Boult. Berrington had reached his 20s when Sodhi produced a false attack in him. Michael Leask came out strong in all directions from there, scoring an undefeated 20-ball 42 with 3 magnificent fours and as many sixes. His efforts, however, were ultimately fruitless.
