MR-W vs SS-W Highlights for Today’s 2nd Match of WBBL 2024
Sydney Sixers captain Elysse Perry starred with both bat and ball in her team’s opening match of Women’s Big Bash League 2024-25 on Sunday against Melbourne Renegades.
First, she bagged two wickets for 25 during the ball, and then Perry played a splendid knock of 38-ball 81 during the 179-run chase to play a big role in Sydney Sixers victory in their opening clash of the tournament.
Earlier, Georgia Wareham scored the most for Melbourne with 61 off 31 and helped them reach a competitive total while batting first.

Invited to bat, the Melbourne Renegades made a decent start as their openers put 58 on board for the first wicket in 7.2 overs.
The side faced a shaky middle overs-run as they lost four wickets in the next 28 deliveries while adding 37 runs.
It was Georgia Wareham, who broke the shackles and played a superb knock of 31-ball 61 with the help of four fours and four maximums.
While handy contributions from captain Sophie Molineux (17 off 10) and Naomi Stalenberg (12) guided Melbourne to 178 in 20 overs.
Skipper Elysse Perry was the most economical with the ball as she gave only 25 in her four overs and grabbed two wickets.

Sydney Sixers to chase 179 in 20 overs
After displaying a solid performance with the ball, skipper Perry started to dominate the game with the in run-chase. Came as an opener, Perry shot 38-ball 81 that included 11 fours and three maximums.
Her opening partner Hollie Armitage hit 30 off 23 before leaving the field when Sydney Sixers were at 79 in 7.2.
Ashleigh Gardner, who came in at number 3, not able to score much and got out for 2. Perry and Sarah Bryce then added 40 in next 23 balls before Georgia Wareham dismissed Perry for 81.
The Sixers faced a collapse after the skipper’s dismissal, as they lost their next three batters for 16 and four for 26.
With 147 for 7 after 16.4, and 32 more required in 20 deliveries, wicketkeeper batter Sarah Bryce (36* off 25) and Caoimhe Bray (12* off 5) played sensible cricket to propel their team to victory with one over remaining.
