In the last few weeks, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have taken some tough choices. First of all, Alex Hales had kept out of the list of 55 people they announced for the next training session. Secondly, Liam Plunkett was also left out. Since the World Cup last year, the fast bowler has been ignored.
In the World Cup Final against New Zealand at Lord’s last year, he had done fantastic bowling. He came back with 3/42 figures and picked 11 wickets at the tournament as well. However, the selectors have moved from the right-arm seamer, which looks not to be on your side with age. All this has made Michael Vaughan, former Captain of England furious.
Michael Vaughan is disappointed with the Liam Plunkett issue.
“After the World Cup final, I heard that he won a World Cup with a team of guys and management in England, and no one ranked him. Not just one person. He had to find that out through Twitter (news of omission) – I’m so sorry, that’s back in your days, Phil. It isn’t in its time of cricket, it’s a shame, “said Vaughan in a podcast with Phil Tufnell, a former left-arm spinner.
” I can not understand it. I know people are looking forward, you’ve always had to think about four years… [but] he ‘s experienced, he’s played all over the world, he’s a go-to guy for Eoin Morgan in the World Cup, he can fight as well, he’s a great team member … I can’t see it, “Vaughan added.
Meanwhile, Liam Plunkett expressed a desire to play international cricket for the United States of America. His wife is a U.S. resident, so if he stayed in America for three years, he would be willing to play for the U.S.
