Bowling Coach Shane Bond Speaks On MI Team
And indeed the Rohit Sharma-led team is now seventh in the IPL standings, having won only five of its 12 games. And, according to the Mumbai franchise’s bowling coach Shane Bond, the Mumbai team is still on the hunt for a spot in the playoffs.
Bond also agreed that the Mumbai Indians did not perform well in the 2nd leg of the Indian Premier League in the UAE.
“We are playing okay, we know that we are playing nowhere near our best, but we are still in the competition. We’ll see what happens. We only had five wins, but if we can get two wins under our belt and a few results go our way,” said Shane Bond after the match between DC vs MI.
Shane Bond went on to say that 145 was a possible winning score against the Delhi Capitals and that the Delhi batters looked impressive.
Suryakumar Yadav is getting the fluency with the bat: Shane Bond
Bond also praised Suryakumar Yadav’s 33-runs in a 26-balls knock against Delhi. The MI bowling coach stated that Yadav performed as expected and was striking the ball wonderfully during practice sessions. The 46-year-old finished by saying that Yadav is regaining his bat-handling fluency.
“We thought if we got a score around 145 it would probably be a winning total which probably proved to be right. Look, the bowlers gave ourselves an opportunity to win the game, but I think Delhi played well in the middle, they took some chances and we knew that it was going to get tougher”.
“He (Suryakumar Yadav) just played how he normally plays. He’s hitting the ball beautifully in training. He was getting that fluency and looked like the way he played last season. it’s just unfortunate that he’s getting out,” concluded Shane Bond.
