The India vs South Africa series will commence on November 8 and concludes on November 15. There is a Border-Gavaskar Trophy eight after that series, starting November 22.
And an entirely different squad will be selected for the BGT 2024-25 than the South Africa T20Is.
However, the Australia legend Brett Lee recently shared his thoughts on Mayank Yadav while speaking to Fox cricket that giving Mayank Yadav a chance in BGT will be beneficial for India if Mohammed Shami is not available, as Mayank is a complete package.
While it will be interesting to see if Mayank makes the cut for the BGT. Looking at the current scenario, Mayank Yadav is expected to play in the T20I series against South Africa.
Mayank bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2024 at 156.7 kmph and even won the player of the match awards in his first two appearances.
The young speedster bowled a maiden first over on his India debut against Bangladesh on October 6 and became only the third Indian to bowl a maiden on their T20I debut after Ajit Agarkar and Arshdeep Singh.
