Maxwell code of conduct in IPL 2025
Glenn Maxwell breached the IPL Code of Conduct in Match No. 22, PBKS vs CSK, on Tuesday. He was fined 25% of his match fees. PBKS won the match against CSK by 12 runs. LSG’s spinner Digvesh Rathi under scanner for yet another time.
Maxwell Second Cricketer To Get Charged Under Article 2.2
PBKS all-rounder and veteran cricketer Glenn Maxwell was found guilty of Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL code of conduct. Article 2.2 includes causing damage to wickets, advertising boards, boundary fences, dressing room doors, windows, mirrors, and other fixtures and fittings. Any cricketer involved in deliberately hitting or kicking any of the substances mentioned above is charged.
Previously, Ishant Sharma was fined 25% of his match fees for conducting the same act during Match No. 19, GT vs SRH on Sunday.
Digvesh Rathi Under Scanner For 3rd Time
LSG’s spinner and emerging young talent Digvesh Rathi is yet again under scanner for his over-the-top celebration. The 25-year-old had caught everyone’s attention in Match No. 13, LSG vs PBKS. Grabbing Priyansh Arya’s wicket in the game, Rathi gestured, ticking Arya’s name off the list on his palm. Followed by walking close to the batter. Thereafter, Rathi was fined 25% of his match fees. He also received a demerit point.
Thereafter, in Match No. 16, LSG vs MI, Digvesh celebrated in the same fashion after sending Naman Dhir back to the pavilion. However, this time, Rathi celebrated the wicket with his teammates rather than going close to the batter. BCCI criticized his celebration yet again. Rathi was reprimanded with 50% of his match fees. He also concluded two demerit points in his account. There are a total of three demerit points for Rathi in the IPL 2025 journey so far.
For the third time, Digvesh Rathi caught eyeballs in yesterday’s match against the KKR. After dismissing Sunil Narine, the spinner gestured to write something on the ground. However, the BCCI hasn’t given any decision on his celebration. The concern for Rathi is that he already has three demerit points, and getting four to seven demerit points will lead to a one-match suspension.
