Pakistan’s bowling coach and former skipper Waqar Younis contradicted Virat Kohli’s claim by Wasim Akram that the Indian skipper would have made life tough for the past’s top bowlers. Widespread considered one of Pakistan’s greatest bowlers ever made.

Younis emphasized that it would be impossible to assume, contrary to Akram’s argument, that bowlers like him did not come across a player like Virat Kohli during their days of playing with the Pakistani national side.

Waqar was also a walking nightmare in his glittering career spanning over a decade when he opened the Pakistani attack with Akram. His ability to swing the shiny leather in both directions and his aggressive pace made him one of the Pakistani side’s most effective seamers.

The legendary speed merchant enjoyed a good relationship with Wasim as both premier pacers succeeded in disturbing one of the greatest batsmen ever to play the game of gentlemen.

From Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to batting Maestro Viv Richards, Younis made a name with his ruthless pace in dismissing batting legends. Because Waqar never doubted his skill back then, the former Pakistani talisman claims that even a player like Kohli, who is considered to be the biggest player in the game, would have found it difficult when dealing with the Burewala Express, who was also famous for another nickname- Toe Crusher.

“I won’t give such a statement because it will be wrong to say that we did not have a player like Virat Kohli during our playing days. I bowled against a few of the best batsmen in the world such as Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Martin Crowe, and Viv Richards,” Younis said.

“I made a name for myself by bowling to such great players. I will put a question mark on this statement because I had some skills about getting batsmen out, back in the day, and it would not have changed even if I was playing these days as well,” The pacer who made his international debut with Tendulkar and bagged four wickets in the famous Test against India in 1989.
