Skipper Sanju Samson & Dhruv’s Knocks Guide Rajasthan to 16 Points on Points Table

LSG vs RR Highlights

LSG vs RR Highlights: Table-toppers RR defeated LSG by 7 wickets on a Saturday night, bringing an end to the magnificent game of cricket. Here at Lucknow Ekkana Stadium, Sanju and Dhruv’s cool and collected innings helped Rajasthan to an easy win.

Both teams played sensible cricket in this encounter, which provided a change of pace from high-scoring contests. Both bowlers and batters got their fair share of success.

This win not only guaranteed RR their playoff spot but also a chance to finish the group stages at the top of the points table. Rajasthan Royals after winning the toss decided to bat first even after knowing that Luknow is good at stopping teams from chasing totals.

This was a big gamble by RR skipper Sanju Samson but however, at first, it paid with two early wickets of Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis.

But things took a turn when LSG skipper KL Rahul along with Deepak Hooda switched up a wonder full third wicket partnership of 115 runs. Deepak with his wonder 50 of 31 balls held the rope for LSG along with his skipper.

LSG vs RR Highlights: KL Rahul’s Rescue Innings for LSG: While RR bowlers stumble in the middle overs

KL Rahul once proved to be instrumental in this match with his impressive 76 runs of 48 balls, he struck 8 boundaries and two massive sixes. The lower order of LSG did not do as much damage as they wanted but they all together finished the innings with 196/5 in 20 overs.

Even though Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma struck early on the RR bowlers found it difficult to stop KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda. However, Sandeep Sharma finished as the highest wicket-taker for RR with two wickets in four overs, while Ashwin, Avesh Khan, & Trent Boult picked up one wicket each to restrict LSG under 200.

LSG vs RR Highlights: Table Toppers Failed to Chase 196 against Lucknow

Yet again Rajasthan batsman chasing 196 started in an impressive fashion with Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal on strike. RR openers were scoring at a decent pace and when seemed like they were cruising, in came Yash Thakur who clean-bowled Jos Buttler to give the LSG their first wicket.

Then Jaiswal also followed his after scoring (24 off 18 balls), but it was their skipper Sanju Samson along with Dhruv Jurel played sensible cricket.

Both Samson and Dhruv played wonderful shots and were also guided with some drop catches by the home side. Sanju Samson led his team with pure determination as he was hungry for this win. Samson scored a magnificent unbeaten 71* off 33 balls, with four sixes and seven boundaries.

This impressive knock from the RR skipper certainly helped the Rajasthan side to cross the line. However, Dhruv Jurel also played his part with an unbeaten 52* off 34 balls.
