LSG vs GT Match Highlights For TATA IPL 2024 Match 21

Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans 21st Match Highlights

LSG vs GT Match Highlights: It was a brilliant display of cricket from Lucknow Super Giants as the home side cruised past Gujarat Titans with 33 runs to register their third win in four games. Gujarat Titans did well with the ball but were unable to replicate the same success in the batting department.

This win pushes LSG to third place in the points table with six points from four games. Even though they lost their first game LSG by winning their next three games made an impressive comeback. GT and LSG are the only two teams that have a 100% Playoff qualifying record, so this match could spice things up.

After winning the toss home side won the toss and elected to bowl first and in came GT openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul. Both of them did not get the start they wanted as Quinton de Kock was dismissed early on and then Padikkal also followed him quickly.

Stoinis and Pooran Rescue LSG from Trouble

However, even after LSG’s top order failed it was Marcus Stoinis who took the charge and smashed an impressive half-century. His knock had two sixes and four boundaries, but he couldn’t convert it into a big score as he was dismissed by Darshan Nalkande after scoring 58 runs from 43 balls.

While Nicholas Pooran also contributed with his superb cameo of 32 runs from 22 balls. Pooran smashed three sixes to boost the LSG score. It was Pooran’s final touch which propelled Lucknow to 163 runs in 20 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants on Spot against Gujarat Titans

After putting up a decent target it was time for Lucknow to restrict Gujarat and oh boy they did with complete dominance. Even though GT openers started well after the first wicket at 54/1 in 5.6 overs, it was raining wickets for Lucknow. No one really kept going for LSG and at one end wickets were falling one after another.

Yash Thakur was the star man with the ball as he picked up a five-wicket haul and Krunal Pandya picked up three crucial wickets in his spell which almost crushed the GT batting lineup. While Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq also picked up one wicket each. This amazing bowling performance helped Lucknow to restrict GT for 130/10 runs inside 18.5 overs.

Conclusion: LSG Beat Lucknow by 33 Runs

It was an overall performance from the home side Lucknow where they gave a proper treat to the fans. Even though it was not a big total to chase down, the LSG bowlers made sure that GT never had control of the chase. This 33-run victory also marks the third win for LSG this season, which takes them to third place in the points table. GT on the other hand, lost three out of their five matches up until now. Gujarat needs to regroup and find the rhythm back in order to get back into winning ways.
