Pakistan vs Zimbabwe in T20 World Cup 2022 

Despite playing decent number of games against Zimbabwe in the bilateral series, Babar & company lost their group stage match in T20 World Cup 2022 to Zimbabwe by a run.  

The low-scoring game saw Zimbabwe only managed to post 130 in their 20-over quota, and Pakistan fell short of a run to witness their second straight game in the group stage. The team, however, reached the finale in that event, but lost to England.

This defeat was not as shocking as Pakistan suffered against Zimbabwe in T20 World Cup 2022 but losing to Afghanistan by 8 wickets in a 283-run chase game is a big defeat.  

That was a third consecutive loss for team Pakistan in the marquee event and they lost their next one also and eventually failed to qualify for the semis. Babar Azam announced to step down from captaincy after the team under failed to win the reach even the semis in World Cup.

Pakistan vs USA in T20 World Cup 2024  

The runners-up of the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan, entered the T20 World Cup 2024 with a lot of hopes to complete their incomplete work of winning the T20 WC after 15 years.  

Team USA, who are currently in the 18th spot in the ICC T20I team rankings defeated the sixth ranked Pakistan in a super over thriller game that left the cricket community all stunned.  

USA, who started their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on a winning note, maintained their winning momentum and claimed a success over the 1-time champions Pakistan.  

Opting to bowl, USA restricted the men in green to only 159 and managed to draw the game, with skipper Monank Patel played an important role of 50 in the chase.  

With the winner still not decided after the complete 40-over game, the super over then needed to determine the winner. The United States team scored 18 off their 6 balls, and eventually won the game by 5 runs after allowing Pakistan to score only 13.
