Tim Paine, the Australian Test captain, and trolling have become associated in recent months. Since Australia’s humiliating Test series loss to India earlier this year, the experienced wicketkeeper-batsman has faced criticism from supporters. The series outcome was nothing short of a shock, and the Australian captain was immediately examined. Since then, internet users have found a way to troll Paine no matter what he says or does. let’s discuss Paine’s Opinions on the Ashes 2021-22.

Paine’s opinions on the Ashes 2021-22 and the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand caught the interest of a New Zealand-based writer on June 15. The 36-year-old previously stated in an interview that England would travel to Australia with a quality group later this year and that taking them lightly will not be useful. When questioned about the World Cup final, Paine predicted India to win ‘pretty comfortably.’

Reacting to Paine’s remarks, the disgruntled journalist tweeted: “Big talk from someone who’s never scored a test century.” It was evident that the journalist wasn’t happy with Paine backing India over New Zealand. Hence, he targeted the wicket-keeper over his personal records. Reacting to this, Paine came up with a gentle clarification and explained the reason behind his pick. “Just my opinion based on playing against both sides Ollie,” he replied on Twitter.

The WTC final, however, will begin on June 18 at Southampton’s Ageas Bowl. Both teams have been performing incredibly well in red-ball cricket lately and will be eager about winning the prestigious championship. The Kiwis must be feeling good about themselves after defeating England 1-0 in the Test series to become the top-ranked Test team.

Team India, who arrived in England on June 13, sweated it out in an intra-squad practice match to get a feel for the conditions. They, like New Zealand, did not have the opportunity to participate in a Test series as part of their preparation. They still have a strong team, and Kane Williamson’s men can’t afford to make a single mistake.

Paine, who does not play limited-overs cricket for Australia, will wear the national jersey for the first time in the historic Test against Afghanistan at home. The Ashes would be played after the match, and the Australians would be eager to retain the title.
