J Neesham Has Got The Ability, He Is A Big Hitter: Gavaskar

England faced New Zealand in the 1st semi-final of the 2021 T20 World Cup, and the Kiwis performed a spectacular comeback to win by 5 wickets. When it comes to game heroics, all-rounder James Neesham had an outstanding performance for his team, bringing them back into contention. When the needed net run rate became too much for them, Neesham’s 27 off 11 worked a treat. Here is all about what Sunil Gavaskar Speaks About J Neesham

Sunil Gavaskar Speaks About J Neesham

After Neesham knocked Chris Jordan out of the field in the final over, things began to change for them. Former Indian great Sunil Gavaskar has returned to shower praises on the Kiwi all-rounder. Gavaskar went on to say that Neesham showed his justice in the match.

He really does have the potential, and it was fantastic to watch him hit the ball so beautifully, said the Indian legend. Although Daryl Mitchell’s 72* off 47 pulled New Zealand over the mark, it was Neesham’s smart striking that turned the game’s fate.

“Jimmy Neesham has been a player who would play one special innings in about eight or nine and he played that today,” said Gavaskar.

Kane Williamson showed faith in him by giving him the 20th over: Gavaskar

“What an innings, scoring at a strike rate of over 240. He was hitting the ball well. He had a bit of luck with that Jonny Bairstow catch which went over the boundary and it became a six. But clearly, Neesham has got the ability. He is a big hitter, he can bowl usefully and Kane Williamson showed faith in him by giving him the 20th over of the England innings so yes, it is good to see Jimmy Neesham do justice to his talent,” he added.

Gavaskar also mentioned at the conclusion that captain Kane Williamson had a significant impact on his side. The way he commands his team is admirable, and it motivates his colleagues to do better, reflected the former hitter. It should be observed that Williamson has now headed New Zealand to the finals of the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, and WTC.
