India squad for Sri Lanka Series 2024: The T20 World Champions are set to tour Sri Lanka for the white ball series, starting July 26. This marks the first assignment of newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir.
As per media reports, Selectors will gather in a week to choose players for the Indian team. Gautham Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar, the top selector, are interested in Hardik Pandya to lead the team in T20Is. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul may return for ODIs.
As three veterans Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja all retired from T20Is, Yasashvi Jaiswal, Shubaman Gill, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, will get a chance to play on their places.
The T20I World Cup the game-changer Bumrah is likely to rest for this series and can be replaced by Avesh Khan or Mukesh Kumar. Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj likely to be pickes as leading pacers for Team India. Khaleel Ahmed, who is performing decently with the ball in the ongoig Zimbabwe series is expected to join the pace attack of India.
The selectors may prefer Sanju Samson as a wicketkeeper for the Indian squad as Rishabh Pant is playing constantly for Domestic league and Internationals games after returning from a major injury.
T20 World Cup champions like SuryaKumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav are set to be included in India’s T20I squad.

Sri Lanka set Pallekele International Cricket Stadium as a venue for T20Is will start on 26th July, and end on 29th July. The matches will begin at 07:00 PM.
The venue for the ODIs between India vs Sri Lanka will be R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo which will take place at 02:30 PM on 2nd August 2024,4th August 2024 and 7th August 2024, respectively.
