India Asia Cup jersey sponsor 2025
For the first time in years, Team India is poised to compete in a major tournament without a jersey sponsor, following the end of their partnership with Dream11. So let’s have a look at India Asia Cup jersey sponsor.
Dream11 Exit Leaves Sponsor Void
Dream11, which took over as the Indian cricket team’s lead jersey sponsor in July 2023 with a deal worth ₹358 crore, abruptly ended its association just before the Asia Cup 2025. The severed ties stem from recent government regulations banning real-money gaming companies from sponsoring sports teams, which has forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to search for new commercial partners. With the Asia Cup scheduled to begin on September 9, the BCCI’s efforts to secure a sponsor are hampered by tight timelines and a prioritization of a more lucrative long-term agreement extending up to the 2027 ODI World Cup rather than a hasty short-term fix.
BCCI’s Search for a Long-Term Deal
In response to the sponsorship vacancy, the BCCI held an emergency meeting chaired by acting president Rajeev Shukla, but no immediate solution emerged. Sources within the board confirm that discussions are ongoing with potential sponsors but suggest that finalizing a deal before the Asia Cup commences is unlikely. The financial blow is significant, with both Dream11 and My11Circle jointly contributing nearly ₹1,000 crore in recent years through their sponsorships. BCCI’s strategy now targets a ₹450 crore contract to ensure stability through 2027, indicating a shift from quick arrangements to more substantial, long-term partnerships.
With regulatory changes disrupting traditional sponsorship avenues, India’s Asia Cup campaign could serve as a test of the team’s marketability beyond commercial branding—raising critical questions about the future landscape of cricket sponsorship in the country.
