Who will be included in the India A team?

India’s 14-member squad for the test against England Lions could be in a finalization process by the BCCI’s senior men’s selection committee, which is being led by  Ajit Agarkar. Key players in the squad could include Yashasvi Jaiswal, keeper-batter could be Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur could also be included to play the role of an experienced all-rounder, Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran could be in the squad, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy for his BGT performances, and pacer Anshul Kamboj.

Jaiswal and Kishan could feature due to their IPL teams elimination from the playoffs. Dhruv Jurel is also likely to compete for the keeper’s spot. Karun Nair, Mukesh Kumar, and pacers such as Akash Deep and Khaleel Ahmed could be included. The squad will play two games against England Lions from May 30-June 9, serving as a crucial preparation for the upcoming Test series. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan are expected to join the squad for the second match, with Sudharsan challenging Easwaran for an opening spot.

When will the India A team squad be official?

For now BCCI is focused on restarting and completing the IPL 2025 before it becomes a headache amidst the crucial international tour. The delay in IPL 2025, caused by heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, has pushed the tournament’s conclusion to June 3. This delay impacts the selection of the India A squad for their tour of England. The squad’s final composition depends on IPL player availability, with certain players potentially missing parts of the India A tour. The final decision may take a fews weeks or so.
