IND vs SL 2nd T20I Highlights: India recorded their second consecutive win in the three-match T20I series after defeating Sri Lanka by seven wickets on Sunday to secure the series, with one more game left to play.

Batting first, Kusal Perera’s 53 and Pathum Nissanka’s with his consistent play tried their best to guide Sri Lanka to a big total but once again the middle and lower order collapse dented the chances to set a huge target.

IND vs SL 2nd T20I Highlights

Invited to bat, Sri Lanka made the most out the opportunity as despite losing the first wicket in the powerplay, they managed to cross the 50-run mark.

The track was looking extremely batting friendly, as both Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera were playing their shots quite flawlessly.

Then came Bishnoi in picture and dismissed the well set and top run-scorer in the series Nissanka for 32.

Skipper Charitha Asalanka joined Perera at crease, and both added another fifty runs to take Sri Lanka to 130 in 15 overs.

Perera, who played a huge role in setting the platform for the big total for his side and completed his 14th T20I fifty during the process, left the crease after scoring a 34-ball 53.

Sri Lanka faced a batting collapse then and only able to add 22 in the last four overs to post 161 after 20 overs.

Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowler for India with three wickets. While Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya all bagged 2-2 each.

India to chase 78 in 8 overs

India played only three balls before rain-halted the game and the match was resumed after a complete 70-minute rain break.

Umpires reduced the overs to 8 and set a target of 78 for India to win the game as per DLS method.

Sanju Samson, who came in replacing Shubman Gill, went back to pavilion for zero.

Suryakumar Yadav, walked in at number 3, played his part with a quick-fire 12-ball 26 that includes 4 fours and a maximum.

The young Yashasvi Jaiswal, who also won the ICC player of the month in February this year, became the first batter to score 1000 runs in international cricket in 2024 during his knock of 30.

India completed the run chase in just 6.3 overs after a combined effort from the experienced T20 specialist batting line-up.
