IND vs NZ 1st Test: Rain Plays Spoilsport on Day 1 of Bengaluru Test

IND vs NZ 1st Test Updates

The first day of the much-anticipated Test match in Bengaluru was unfortunately washed out due to incessant rain, dampening the spirits of cricket fans and players alike. The weather in the city has been unusually cold, murky, and gloomy for the past couple of days, and the conditions reached a tipping point today, with the rain persisting throughout the day. Let’s look at IND vs NZ 1st Test Updates Today.

Despite the excitement surrounding the match, not a single ball was bowled, and the day ended with an unfortunate announcement that the play had been called off. It was one of those days where nothing seemed to go right. The day started with light showers, which grew heavier as time progressed.

Despite a few brief spells where it seemed like the weather might ease up, the rain never really stopped. The persistent downpour also prevented the ground staff from doing their usual pitch preparations. Reports from the venue indicated that the curator hadn’t been able to inspect the pitch for the last three days due to the continuous rain.

Forecast for Day 2 Looks Gloomy

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for tomorrow isn’t promising either. With more rain predicted over the next 24 hours, there is real concern that play might be interrupted again on Day 2. However, all hope is not lost. The match officials have scheduled an early start tomorrow to make up for the lost time, and everyone involved is keeping their fingers crossed for better conditions.

Revised Session Timings for Day 2

In a bid to recover some of the lost time, the following revised timings have been announced for tomorrow:

  • Morning session: 9:15 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Afternoon session: 12:10 PM – 2:25 PM
  • Evening session: 2:45 PM – 4:45 PM

All we can do now is hope that the skies clear up and allow play to resume without further interruptions. Stay tuned for further updates as we head into Day 2, hoping for a brighter and more action-packed day on the field.
