Afghanistan cricket team is all set to take on Team India in a 3-match ODI series away from home in March 2022. Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially given Future Tour Program schedule for the next two years. we have discussed here on IND vs AFG ODI Series.
IND vs AFG ODI Series
They will play 11 ODI, 4 T20I, and 2 Test series respectively which includes home and away games. Afghanistan is set to play 52 international matches – 37 ODIs, 12 T20Is, and three Test matches in 2022 and 2023.
In the span of 2 years, the Afghanistan side will play in the Asia Cup 2022, ICC T20 World Cup in the same year, and even ICC 50-over World Cup in 2023. Afghanistan will start the calendar year with the ODI series versus the Netherlands and end the year with a three-format series against Zimbabwe.
We are pleased to announce our FTP schedule for 2022-23. This includes a total of 37 ODIs, 12 T20Is & 3 tests in the period. Moreover, the national team will be taking part in various ICC & ACC events in two years.

Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially released a press note stating – “If we bifurcate the tally into limited-overs cricket and the test format, it clearly shows that Afghanistan’s focus will be on the shorter formats of the game,”
“Considering the fact that Afghanistan will be playing 7 ODI series in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, as well as will participate in four major limited-overs events such as Asia Cup 2022 (T20 format), ICC T20 World Cup 2022, the Asia Cup 2023 (ODI format) & the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,” – ACB said.
