However, he requested the BCCI to release him from the test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. Despite these instructions, Ishan Kishan did not play any matches in 2024 for India and as a consequence, was left out of the BCCI’s central contracts for allegedly not agreeing to participate in domestic cricket.
