Mohammed Shami has made a special impact in the World Cup, after not getting a chance in the first 4 matches, when Shami came into the team, first he got 5 wickets against New Zealand, 4 wickets against England, and now 5 against Sri Lanka.

Along with this brilliant performance, Shami has also made many records in his name, the biggest of which is taking the most wickets by any Indian bowler in the World Cup history.

Yes, now Shami has become the highest wicket taker in the history of Indian ODI cricket with 45 wickets.

On top of that, Shami achieved this feat in just 14 innings. His magical spell against Sri Lanka on November 2 in Wankhede made him the most wicket-taker for India in ODI World Cup history.

He surpassed Zaheer Khan (44 wickets in 23 innings) and Javagal Srinath (44 wickets in 33 innings).

He also became the leader of taking maximum 5 wickets for India.

Shami has now 185 wickets in 97 One-day internationals. He also became the first player to win 2 Player of the Match awards.

His performance handed India a 302-run win over Sri Lanka and also helped the Indian team to reach the semi final of the World CUp 2023.

India is undefeated in the World Cup 2023 so far, and with a victory over Sri Lanka they’ve also reached the semi-finals, becoming the first team to book their berth.

The men in blue posted a massive 356 on board and then bundled out the Island side to just 55.

Shubman Gill was the top run-scorer for India with 92, Virat Kohli scored 88, while Shreyas played a stylish knock of 83 off 56.

Shami was the pick of the bowler for India with 5 wickets, Mohammed Siraj took 3, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja shared 1-1 each.
