The Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals were their primary rivals for Ecclestone, but the Warriorz pounced late to capture the deal of the all-rounder.
Fast bowler and England teammate Lauren Bell will join Ecclestone at the Warriorz after a late bid of 30 lakh was made for the 22-year-old, while Heather Knight will join Royal Challengers Bangalore following an opening bid of 40 lakh.
Alice Capsey, an all-around player from England, was sold to the Delhi Capitals for 75 lakh, and 20-year-old spinner Issy Wong was sold to the Indians for 30 lakh alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt.
India’s Smriti Mandhana, who was sold to the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 3.4 crore, received the highest bid at the WPL auction.
The Women’s Premier League, which runs from March 4 to March 26 and has a total of 22 matches, is the women’s version of the men’s Indian Premier League.
