T20 World Cup Super 12 will commence from 23rd October and this will be the last time we will watch Virat Kohli as a T20 Captain. Recently, Kohli has decided to step down as a leader of the squad. On the other hand, Indian selectors are doing every possible to get the best squad for the World Cup, According to reports, to support the training and conditioning sessions, there will be more players who’ll be joining the T20I camp. The reports suggest that the likes of Shivam Mavi, Harshal Patel, and Venkatesh Iyer will be accompanied by the Indian squad.
These players will help Team India train and will be staying back in Dubai. All these players had an excellent IPL in UAE. Two out of three can be expected to stay back in Dubai. “The instructions will be relayed after Monday’s Eliminator so that the player(s) will not exit the bubble and instead transfer from one bubble to another,” the report adds.
Teams can change their teams seven days prior to the start: BCCI Source
It is also learned that India needs to submit their final squad by 15th October and we can expect few changes in the squad. “Teams can change their teams seven days prior to the start of their support period. India’s support period starts with the Super 12 which begins on Oct 23. So, they have time to change the team till October 15,” said BCCI source.
BCCI can make changes till their deadline of October 15 since India is already qualified for the Super 12 stage which starts from October 23.
The earlier issue of Hardik Pandya can be a big concern since he was selected as an All-Rounder and hard-hitting batter hasn’t bowled a single over in IPL. India will be going with Deepak Chahar or Shardul Thakur as they need a pacer in the squad since India picked only 3 genuine fast bowlers earlier.
“The selectors will wait and watch on how Hardik shapes up in the next few days. The selectors went with just three genuine pacers because it was believed Hardik would be fit enough to bowl his quota of overs. Since he hasn’t bowled at all in the IPL, there’s no form to go by.” BCCI source said.
India will be facing arch-rivals Pakistan on 24th October for the First Super 12 match. for preparing wolrd cup matches Harshal patel , shivam mavi and Venkatesh iyer will be helpfull during net sessions.
