Hardik Pandya Nears Full Fitness; Likely to Rejoin India Squad for South Africa Series – Report

Hardik Pandya nears full fitness for South Africa series 2025

Hardik Pandya Recovering Well at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence

In a major boost for Team India, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is reportedly close to regaining full fitness and is likely to make his comeback soon. According to recent reports, Pandya is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. So let’s have look at Hardik Pandya nears full fitness for South Africa series.

The star all-rounder has been recovering from a quadriceps injury that he sustained during the T20 Asia Cup 2025 held in the UAE earlier this year.

Hardik’s Injury During the Asia Cup 2025

Pandya’s injury occurred during the Super-Four match against Sri Lanka, where he was seen walking off the field mid-game and did not return to play. Although India went on to win that encounter, the setback ruled Pandya out of the Asia Cup final against Pakistan.

Since then, he has missed all subsequent fixtures, including the ongoing tour of Australia, as he continues his recovery process under the supervision of the BCCI’s medical staff.

Expected Return for the South Africa Series

According to a report by The Times of India, Hardik Pandya is expected to make his return during India’s upcoming white-ball series against South Africa. The much-anticipated series will begin with the first ODI on November 30, 2025.

A BCCI official quoted in the report confirmed:

“After a holiday break, Hardik reported to the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on November 21. He will be at the CoE for a month. He has started his gym sessions and should be back in action during the white-ball series against South Africa at some point.”

Pandya’s Absence Felt in Recent Series

Pandya’s absence was notably felt during the recent ODI series against Australia, where India struggled to strike the right balance between bat and ball. Without Pandya’s all-round capabilities, India often had to compromise on bowling options to maintain batting depth.

If Hardik regains full fitness in time for the South Africa tour, it will restore the crucial balance India needs in the middle order and bowling attack—especially in the lead-up to the 2026 T20 World Cup preparations.

What’s Next for Team India

Team India is currently on tour in Australia, where they will play four more T20I matches before returning home for the multi-format South Africa series. The inclusion of a fully fit Hardik Pandya will provide the team with the much-needed boost ahead of a busy cricketing calendar.
