Hardik Pandya’s Injury to Be Assessed at BCCI CoE – Comeback Expected Next Month

Hardik Pandya injury BCCI CoE comeback

India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to undergo a detailed injury assessment at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru as he continues his recovery from a quadricep injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2025. The injury, which occurred during India’s Super Four match against Sri Lanka, forced Pandya to miss the tournament final against Pakistan — a game India went on to win in emphatic fashion. So let’s have a look about Hardik Pandya injury BCCI CoE comeback.

Pandya to Join BCCI CoE for Rehabilitation

Hardik Pandya will join the BCCI CoE on Tuesday to get his left quadricep injury thoroughly examined. The medical team will assess the extent of the injury and outline a roadmap for his rehabilitation and return to competitive cricket.

Encouragingly, early assessments suggest that Pandya does not require surgery, and his recovery timeline looks positive. If all goes as planned, the Baroda all-rounder is expected to make his comeback to cricket by next month.

Ruled Out of India’s Tour of Australia

The BCCI recently announced India’s white-ball squads for the upcoming tour of Australia, featuring both ODI and T20I series. However, Hardik Pandya was excluded from the squad due to his ongoing recovery process. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed that Pandya will not travel with the team and will instead continue his rehabilitation at the CoE.

“Hardik won’t be fit for Australia due to the injury he picked up before the Asia Cup final. We’ll know more once he starts rehab at the CoE next week,” Agarkar said.

Agarkar also mentioned that this series provides a golden opportunity for Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been named as Pandya’s replacement. The selectors are also keeping an eye on Rishabh Pant, who continues his own rehabilitation for a foot injury at the same facility.

Pandya’s Recent Form and Injury History

Before his injury, Pandya played a vital role in India’s Champions Trophy 2025 triumph earlier this year. In the Asia Cup 2025, he showcased flashes of brilliance, including a quickfire 38 against Bangladesh, though he struggled for consistency overall.

Over the years, Pandya has battled several injuries but remains one of India’s most crucial all-round assets. In his 94 ODIs, he has scored over 1,700 runs at an average of 32.82 and picked up 73 wickets at 35.50, offering valuable balance to the side.

The Road Ahead

With the World T20 and other major assignments approaching, India will hope for Pandya’s swift return. His fitness at the CoE will be closely monitored, and if recovery progresses as expected, fans could see him back in national colors by November 2025.
