The “Yorker King” Lasith Malinga has turned 38 years today, the former Sri Lankan pacer had an excellent international career, and his unique art of throwing those consistent yorkers have given him that one special place in the cricket books. He is famously known for his sidearm action and funky colored hairstyle.
Malinga has produced several match-winning spells and picked the crucial wickets for his team. He has also captained his national side in the final stages of the T20 World Cup 2014 at Home and that they have successfully won the championship.
Malinga is termed as one of the finest fast bowlers in cricket history. Coming to IPL, he was a part of the Mumbai Indians setup and the veteran has played a vital role and he has won few games single-handedly for the franchise.

Coming to his personal life – Malinga has come from a simple family and his father was a bus mechanic and he used to work at a bus depot in Galle. Since his childhood, Lasith was always passionate about cricket and he used to play with a tennis ball at the seashore. He used to bowl with the same action right from the start and that unique art of bowling has become his identity later on.
Malinga was initially a net bowler and many Sri Lanka legends were unable to play his deliveries and that bought him the ticket to the national side. He has several records on his name and he has picked a total of 546 wickets and he became yorker king.
Coming to his Test career, he played a total of 30 Test matches and picked 101 wickets. In ODI cricket, he has played 226 matches and picked 338 wickets. He has an outstanding record of picking 5 hat tricks in international cricket – And this record will be unbroken for a longer time. He has also picked 2 hat tricks in T20 cricket.
