Happy 41st Birthday Lasith Malinga: In an era where batsmen dominate the game of cricket, one boy from Sri Lanka conquered the world with his unusual side sling bowling action. Known for his fast and deadly Yorkers Separamadu Lasith Malinga had a major impact on the game of cricket, where he revolutionized the death bowling to the next level and his deadly Yorkers made batsmen fear.

On this special day, Lasith Malinga turns 41, even though he has retired as a player, he still contributes as a bowling mentor for the Indian Premier League team. One of his major achievements was when he led his national side to the 2014 T20 World Cup, making him one of the great captains of the Sri Lankan team.

He is the only player to pick up two hat tricks in a World Cup, and Malinga is still the only player to pick up 4 wickets in four balls twice in the international circuit. However, he hung his boots in 2021 making an end to his remarkable career. He has been an inspiration to many and even youngsters nowadays try his sling bowling action.

One of the greatest T20 bowlers of all time, Lasith Malinga earned his name in the Indian Premier League as well. He was a member of the Mumbai side in the Indian T20 League and often delivered game-winning performances for them. He spent ten seasons in all with the Mumbai Indians, appearing in 122 games and taking up 170 wickets. Not to be overlooked is the fact that he has three Indian Premier League victories.
