The much-awaited showdown of the year is around the corner. While we are just a few days away from kicking off the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The opening ceremony is one of the first and most important events of the tournament. Where different celebrities from different genre come together and entertain the crowd before the matches gets kickstarted.

The World Cup 2023 star-studded opening ceremony was slated to commence at 7 PM IST in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, i.e., right after the Captains’ Day event at the same venue.

While there is a twist in the plot, a few sources like Revsportz have suggested that the opening ceremony has been canceled. But a few videos circulating on the internet show that preparation is going on for the Ceremony.

But with few reports suggesting the cancellation of the opening ceremony. Now we will have to wait and see if this is true or if the event gets going as planned. 

Scheduled Star-Studded Lineup for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony

Before the opening ceremony all ten captains, including India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, will be present in Ahmedabad on 4th Oct for the Captains’ Day. In contrast, the opening ceremony will be starting on 4th Oct at 7 PM IST.

The ceremony will supposedly feature renowned Bollywood stars. Celebrities such as Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shreyas Ghoshal, Varun Dhawan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Asha Bhosle. It was also expected to include fireworks and a laser show to mark the beginning of the 2023 World Cup in India.

People with ENG vs NZ tickets will be able to attend the Opening ceremony at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While there is a strong suggestion for scheduling a special ceremony of WorldCup on 14 Oct i.e. before the India-Pakistan match by skipping the opening ceremony of 4 Oct. 

The reason is believed to be the maximum involvement of fans on #INDvsPAK match day but the final decision is in the hands of ICC and BCCI

Uncertainty around the opening ceremony of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has characterized the lead-up to the event. Although earlier plans called for a star-studded event at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. While sources now indicate that it has been postponed. Notably, it appears that preparations are still ongoing and fans are getting puzzling. Stay tuned for more updates.
