Dwayne Bravo did not appear in the last 4-matches of the CPL- 2021 after missing a handful of games with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots due to injury. However, in the 2nd leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE, the experienced has performed admirably for the Chennai Super Kings. The 37-year-old pacer has 6 wickets at low run per delivery.
Bravo received 3 wickets versus the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday, September 24, allowing only 24 runs. The quick overcame Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, and Harshal Patel to clinch Player of the Match. Bravo drew appreciation from CSK captain MS Dhoni after his match-winning performance at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Bravo is executing well and I call him my brother: MS Dhoni
Dhoni complimented Bravo’s cleverness but stressed the need of not being expected with the pacer’s slower deliveries. Dhoni also spoke on their friendship, pointing to Bravo as his “brother.”
“Bravo has turned up fit – that’s a very good thing. And he is executing well. I call him my brother. We always have fights over whether he should bowl the slower ball. But I told him that now everyone knows he bowls slower balls, so I told him to bowl six different balls in one over. Whenever he can, he takes up responsibilities,” Dhoni was quoted as saying in the presentation ceremony.
RCB got off to a fantastic start after being put into batting first, which led to a 111-run partnership among Devdutt Padikkal and Kohli. However, upon their departure, RCB missed their path. CSK eventually chased down a 157-run goal with 11 balls to play. Dhoni stated that Ravindra Jadeja’s session was key in the game’s circumstances.
“We were worried about the dew and we saw that last season. They got off to a great start and after the eighth or ninth over, the pitch slowed down a bit. Jadeja’s spell was very crucial especially with the way Padikkal was batting from one end. I told Moeen that he would bowl from one end during drinks, but then I changed my mind,” he added.
