BR-W vs TRK-W Match Highlights: The final match of the Womens Caribbean Premier League 2024 ended in favor of defending champions Barbados Royals Women, where they defeated Trinbago Knight Riders Women by 4 wickets to claim the second WCPL title in a row. Barbados Royals finished the group stages on top and showed their dominance throughout the tournament. Aaliyah Alleyne was awarded the player of the match for her outstanding performance in the final crucial game.

It all started when the Royals won the toss and decided to send Knight to bat. Hayley Matthews started the proceeding for the defending champions with a wicket in the second over to put Knight riders on the back foot. Then it was majorly Aaliyah Alleyne who picked up four wickets that destroyed the Knight Riders’ batting lineup.
In this crucial game, the Trinbago Knight Riders Women failed to show up and they failed to become the champions. Crumbling to the bowling attack of Barbados the Knight Riders were only able to score 93 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Athapaththu Anchored Barbados Royals To Second WCPL Title
Knight Riders Tried Hard to Restrict but Chamari Athapaththu from the Barbados team made sure that the defending champions retained their crown in this final game of the WCPL 2024. Samara Ramnath tried her best with the ball but was only able to pick up two wickets. Anisa Mohammed, Jess Jonassen, and Shikha Pandey all three players chipped in with one wicket each but were unable to defend the low score of 93 against a strong team like Barbados.
This win marked the second WCPL title for Barbados Royals and they did by winning it in a row. For her amazing performance, Hayley Matthews was awarded the Player of the Series.
