Iyer and Ishan Return To The Contract List
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced central contracts for 34 players of the men’s cricket team. The span of the central contract list runs from 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2025.
The central contract list features Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the elite A+ category(annual salary of Rs. 7 crores). Alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja will also continue in the A+ category. Meanwhile, R Ashwin’s omission from the central contract list is due to his retirement during the BGT series.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan make a return to the BCCI central contract list after facing suspension last year. The duo failed to appear for the domestic matches representing their respective states. Thereafter, BCCI removed them from the central contact. However, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, are awarded Grade B and Grade C contracts in the 2024-25 session.
34 Players Awarded BCCI Central Contract
Furthermore, wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has been upgraded from Grade B to Grade A in the central contract. In addition to Rishabh Pant, Mohd. Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohd. Shami bagged the A+ contract(annual salary of Rs. 5 crores).
Grade B (annual salary of Rs. 3 crores) consists of Surya Kumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer. In addition, along with Ishan Kishan, Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Harshit Rana are in the Grade C (annual salary of Rs. 1 crore) category.
Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharat, and Avesh Khan miss out on the BCCI central contract list.
