BCB Rejects Players’ Request To Train At The Sher-e-Bangla Stadium

For the moment, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will not allow any of the players to train at Sher-e – Bangla National Stadium or at any other venue. Mushfiqur Rahim contacted the Stadium Board in Mirpur but the cricket board rejected his request. The BCB believes that it is not the right time to resume cricket.

So far, 55,000 COVID-19 positive cases reported in Bangladesh, with 746 deaths. The BCB understands the severity of the situation and makes the area safe for cricket play. Therefore, requests of a few more cricketers have also rejected.

He wished to begin personal training, he communicated with us. But we told him it’s not a safe time, he should train at home, “said Nizamuddin Chowdhury, BCB CEO in an interview.

We need to consider the overall situation: BCB chief

“Training is essential, but for us, the safety of the players is more important. There were a few other players who wanted to know if they should do personal Training. But for everyone, our message was the same. Our facilities are disinfected. However, it’s still not finished, “he said.

Almost four months have passed since the ungodly virus started to ravage. All over the world, cricket boards begin to discuss camps. While Bangladesh is also aiming at this, no information provided on when it begins.

“The overall condition must be considered. There’s nothing we can rush into. We will do the same thing in many countries. We can’t, however, give an exact date now, “said Chowdhury.

Also, the BCB thought that it would follow the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) guidelines. “It’s correct that some other countries have begun training under the ICC guide, and we’re going to do the same,” he added.

As far as Mushfiqur is concerned, he has been training at home, running on his treadmill, and keeping himself fit. He has also been posting some pictures of his training sessions on Instagram. Recently, Tigers’ ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal lauded Mushfiqur for being the hardest-working among his teammates. The left-hander also drew his parallels with Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
