Australian women’s team recorded their sixth consecutive and second straight win over India in the ongoing ODI series to take 2-0 lead on Sunday. So Let’s take a look at AU-W vs IN-W 2nd ODI Highlights.

The win at Brisbane already made the Aussies the winner of the series with one game still left to play.  

Australia set a mammoth target of 372 for India in the second one-day match, thanks to splendid centuries by Georgia Voll (101) and Ellyse Perry (105).

Choosing to bat first, Australian openers provided their team a solid start by adding 130 for the first wicket before Phoebe Litchfield left the field after scoring 60.

The 21-year-old Voll playing her second ODI, completed her maiden hundred, while the veteran Ellyse Perry (105) also smashed a ton to take Australia over 300.  

Wicketkeeper batter Beth Mooney’s 56 and skipper Tahlia McGrath’s 12-ball 20 at the last few overs allowed Australia to set a 372 target for the tourists.  

Indian batters struggle in Australia  

After bowling out for just 100 in the series opener, the Indian women’s team scored 249 while chasing 372 in the second ODI to not only lost the second match but also the series.  

There were high hopes from India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, but her performance in the two matches let the team down.  

Richa Ghosh, who got the promotion to play as an opener, hit a fifty. None of the other batter were able to cross even the 50-run mark in the big run-chase game, as a result the Indian team fell short by 122 runs.

Annabel Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as she bagged four wickets for 39 in 8.5 overs.  

Player of the Match 

All-rounder Ellyse Perry was honoured as the player of the match for her explosive knock of 105 off just 75 balls that included seven fours and 6 maximums.
